Born in Georgia sometime around 1940, he was a natural singer as a boy, and he became part of the Jimmy Church Revue in his early twenties. It was through the latter group that he was seen and heard by Nashville-based soul entrepreneur Hoss Allen, who became Martin's manager. A contract with Bragg Records followed soon after, and his debut single, "Lovin' Machine" b/w "When She Touches Me," was a regional hit in the South and became a major cult favorite in England, where it was embraced by Northern soul enthusiasts and also covered by no less a group than the Easybeats.He moved on to Dot Records for his next release, which failed to chart, while his third release, "Wasted Nights," released by the Newark Records label, only charted regionally. Hoss Allen was reportedly preparing a new release for Martin on one of his own record labels when Martin was stricken by a fatal heart attack in Nashville in 1967. Martin's association with Hoss Allen resulted in his appearances on the 1966-vintage television soul showcase The !!!! | Entrenamientos_Colegio_Norte_y_Veteranos_del_Pilar_01_12_2008_MNSOSA.aviMon, 01 Dec 2008 11:49:46 -0800 by masterice2008En este video se muestra claramente la forma en la que el Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria asigna los campos de futbol a los equipos de la Liga de Fútbol Base "Ciudad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria".En este caso en concreto es la "Escuela Deportiva Colegio Norte" la que sufre un claro agravio comparativo al tener que entrenar a sus mas de 60 niños de todas sus categorias en un solo campo mientras el Club de futbol Veteranos del Pilar tiene a tan solo 10 niños de una sola categoria esperando en otro campo a que se haga la hora para comenzar a entrenar.Es lamentable que a estas alturas de la vida se sigan produciendo este tipo de atropellos y se juegue con las ilusiones de muchos niños y padres que solo intentan ver a sus hijos en igualdad de condiciones. | SMS y los adolescentesMon, 01 Dec 2008 10:40:06 -0800 by funkblogjobNuestro proyecto se basa en el desarrollo de un informe, puntualmente enfocado al uso de los mensajes de texto o SMS (en inglés es acrónimo de Servicio de mensajes cortos -Short Message Service, sistema de mensajes de texto para teléfonos móviles,) en los adolescentes.Es preocupante ver el grado de distorsión que van presentando algunos niños y adolescentes respecto al uso de los mensajes de texto o SMS.Es cierto que facilita la comunicación y ahorra tiempo pero también induce a descuidar la ortografía y cometer errores que luego se vuelven horrores ortográficos. Se suele abreviar palabras y muchas veces se escriben letras pensando sólo en la fonética que ayuda a descifrar el mensaje, por ejemplo: a1que (aunque), xq(por qué), salu2?(saludos); y así infinidad de abreviaturas, y hasta la consolidación de un código -sobre la base de abreviar las palabras-, para conseguir introducir el máximo de información en los 160 caracteres que usualmente permite la pantalla del celular. En la creación de este código mucho tienen que ver las generaciones más jóvenes.Esta tendencia se debe a que los adolescentes acceden cada vez más a celulares con múltiples servicios y a que los jóvenes usan los mensajes de texto como un servicio para sociabilizar con sus pares. Pero es necesario tener en cuenta que no siempre comunican, o comunican de forma eficiente, a veces se genera ruido en la comunicación llegando a la no comprensión del mensaje.Cada vez son más los adolescentes que dejan el diálogo de lado para comunicarse mediante mensajes de texto. El uso del teléfono celular como teléfono queda delegado a un porcentaje casi nulo respecto a los mensajes de texto.
