We always put food out for the wild raccoons and opossums, but she came early and would approach us then run back towards the feeder. So we would put some food out for her and within a few days she would stay about a foot away while we put food in her dish. We could see she was nursing and that was what was making her hungry enough to come near us. She started to bring her babies in with her.
