| MacWorld 2009Wed, 07 Jan 2009 15:59:06 -0800 by JoshuaClark1This is my quick summary video of the Apple keynote at the MacWorld Conference which occurred yesterday. I think it was kind of uneventful, compared with other keynotes: 2006 - Intel transition; 2007 - iPhone; 2008 - MacBook Air. Phil Schiller, the SVP of Marketing for Apple conducted the keynote instead of Steve Jobs, and so it was a different feel than most of the other keynotes. The keynote involved an update to the "iApps": iLife '09 (iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb, iDVD and unofficially iTunes) and iWork '09 (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) as well as the introduction of the 17th MacBook Pro. Schiller also talked about (which I didn't mention in this video) new changes to the iTunes Store, which include three price tiers (.69 cents, .99 cents, $1.29) and all 10 million songs DRM-free by the end of Q1 2009.The keynote was capped off with Tony Bennett coming onto a moving stage singing "The Best is Yet to Come" and "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". This explains the song in the video, Frank Sinatra's version of "The Best is Yet to Come". Copyright 2009 Joshua Clark Productions. | St. Anthony Foundation "Working Uninsured" on KQEDWed, 07 Jan 2009 15:52:51 -0800 by stanthonysfKQED Public Broadcasting contacted St. Anthony Foundation in 2005 about a documentary they were producing concerning the working uninsured. Because a large percentage of the patients seen in St. Anthony Free Medical Clinic meet this description, the Clinic was excited about the opportunity to have a way for patients to tell their stories. What began as an initial conversation turned into interviews with Clinic Medical Director Ana Valdés and patient Ralph Boone and eventually resulted in the documentary Working Uninsured. Working Uninsured tells the stories of real people who have jobs but are still without health insurance. Through their words combined with data about the existing health care system, Working Uninsured spreads awareness about the struggles of the uninsured and challenges common myths about who the uninsured are. The program also sheds light on the strain that the growing number of uninsured is putting on emergency rooms and healthcare clinics, lending urgency to the problem.
