This poor boy was severely emaciated, weighing only 40 pounds, and suffered from anemia and raw sores all over his body. Throughout his recuperation at Bideawee over the last few weeks, his spirit has never faltered, and now this happy pooch is back to a healthy weight at 66 pounds. Muffin is a super friendly, goofy, and playful Pitbull mix that wants to say hi to everyone he meets. Because of his size and strength, he needs a family with kids over the age of 10. The Air Force shattered countless pre-identified targets and paralysed terrorist activities. Many massive successful air missions were undertaken last year. Air raids caused heavy damage to the Charles Anthony Baby Brigade head office. The Intelligence Headquarters was also raided. Precise raids targetted a building considered as the LTTE Police Head Office, in addition to many strongpoints in Kilinochchi. As a result, the LTTE experienced severe defeat. This is a review of Universe Deluxe Ironhide.Ironhide gets a 17/20.He is based upon the original Generation One Ironhide.He was voiced by Peter Cullen in G1, with Ironhide being the actors second most famous role in the series.Good points:Faithful to G1.More-or-less accurate.Kick ass SUV mode.Awesome double-ended weapon.Very posable.Bad points:A little stubby.A little short.The Blueface.Head cant look straight.In all, I highly recommend him. He is a great figure and a nice addition to the Universe Classics line and a well needed update of an awesome Autobot warrior. | Research into Heart Disease is ImportantWed, 07 Jan 2009 08:56:40 -0800 by DoctorPLiuDr. Peter Liu is the Heart & Stroke/Polo Chair Professor of Medicine and Physiology at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute, University Health Network. He was appointed Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health in 2006. Dr. Liu graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. During his medical training he undertook a research clerkship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, studying infarct remodeling and heart failure. During his cardiology training, he also pursued a post-doctoral fellowship in cardiovascular imaging and immunology at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School, and clinical epidemiology at McMaster University. In 1985 he joined the Division of Cardiology at the Toronto General Hospital, University of Toronto. Since 1999, he has been the Heart & Stroke/Polo Chair Professor at the University Health Network and serves as Director of the Heart & Stroke/Richard Lewar Centre of Excellence in Cardiovascular Research at the University of Toronto. The latter coordinates cardiovascular research and promotes mentorship and training of next generation of cardiovascular research leaders.Dr. Liu focuses his research on the pathophysiology and clinical outcomes of heart failure from bench to bedside. His team has elucidated the role of inflammation in changing heart structure and function, and potential novel treatment targets in heart failure. His laboratory has also identified how viruses and bacteria can accelerate heart failure and coronary artery disease, and is developing novel vaccines to prevent these complications. With support from Genome Canada, CIHR group and team programs, and the Heart & Stroke Foundation, he is also pursuing novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for early cardiovascular disease identification. He has published over 240 peer reviewed articles in high impact journals, contributed to 19 book chapters and collective works. In addition, he co-chaired a series of Canadian Cardiovascular Society Consensus Guideline Recommendations for heart failure care. He is the recipient of numerous awards in recognition of his scientific contributions and accomplishments including the Rick Gallop Research Award Recognizing Research Excellence from the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario (2003), the Research Achievement Award from the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (2003), Visiting Research Professor Award from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (2005), and the Extramural Award of Merit from the American College of Cardiology (2005), amongst others.
